Joe Roos is an American Hip Hop artist, and a good guy. He's performed in Worthington, Minn., Minneapolis, Minn., and Basra, Iraq. His album, “Just Glad to Be Here" is a breath of fresh air for hip hop in terms of its content. But more worth mentioning is the delivery; a combination of a son-of-a-preacherman conviction, and Minnesota Public Education vocabulary make Roos a stimulating lyricist to say the least.
Raised in Worthington, Minn., a small rural town near the Iowa border, Joe was exposed to rap at the age of 13 when his friend began to free-style rap about his shoes. Thus began a love affair with hip-hop, and over the next 11 years Joe progressed from rapping in the back of the bus on the way home from school to rapping in circles with his friends to recording an album of original content.
Just Glad to Be Here” draws heavily from Joe's experiences in the Army National Guard, where he served as a public affairs specialist. Joe spent six years in the military, including one year deployed to Basra, Iraq with the 34th Red Bull Infantry Division.
Now out of the military, Joe continues to perform and write songs for his new album. His songs can be found on Itunes and amazon.com.
